How Wellness Centers Help
Mental Health Support
Wellness centers provide counseling services, workshops, and support groups to help students manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. This is particularly important as students face academic pressure, social stressors, and personal challenges. Mental health services help students build resilience, improve coping strategies, and develop emotional regulation skills.
Impact & Effectiveness
Studies have shown that students who have access to wellness center services are more likely to feel supported, experience better mental and physical health, and perform better academically.
“Oceanside high school has reduced out of school suspensions by over 180% year over year. The Student Wellness Center is one of the key interventions in lowering this rate.”
